Despite its charm, Blue Swallow Bed & Breakfast had notable shortcomings. The room I booked, while clean, was a bit cramped and left little space for my luggage. I was disappointed to find no common lounge area to relax in. This lack of shared space, especially after a long day out. Lastly, the absence of any background music during breakfast added to the lackluster atmosphere in the dining room.

Penrith vibes 🌟
Wow, it was like home! The brekkie was lekker, fresh made to order, and the beds were comfy like a good old plaasbed. Loved the cute dog too, got to give her some love!
Parking can be a bit tricky. Just watch out for the street access.

My husband and I stayed here over the years and always had excellent accommodations. We recently stayed last week and I can't say enough about the over the top hospitality that we received. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Karen and Alison go out of their way to make you feel at home. We will be staying with them again on our next visit to the beautiful Lake District!
The location to the center of town is a plus. The staff are so helpful with suggesting places to go and visit and places to eat. They constantly make sure all your needs are met. Every attention to detail is met. I am very impressed by their kindness and genuine hospitality.

Attentive and amiable staff, everything immaculately clean.
Gorgeous hotel, the stay was excellent, perfect location out to the taxi. Units with a lovely selection of coffees etc. Location really close to the Coast to Coast ride-amazing hosts and the Lake District and N/S travel.

Blue swallow bed & breakfast is a real gem! Karen was so cute. Our family room was super clean and had good homemade treats waiting for us. Breakfast was a standout, with made-to-order options including the best poached eggs we've had. Plus, it's conveniently close to the train station!

The hosts really know how to make you feel
Welcome right from the start, providing homemade treats like delicious tiffin and fudge in the room. The well-decorated and impeccably clean space created a cozy atmosphere, while the breakfast was a good way to start the day. Be aware that parking can be a bit tight, so arriving early is wise.
